Salam sister, Just want to say congratulations to you and Katie on an excellent piece of work....!
As a new muslim, you meet on a daily basis people who are ignorant about Islam and have a lot of misconceptions of Islam. InshAllah this project may help to clear up these misconceptions and help non muslims think for themselves and to not believe everything they read or hear about islam. Instead to find research n seek knowledge and then form an opinion regarding islam.

The media here have had a huge role to play in spreading these misconception of Islam for the following reasons...
1. Out of pure ignorance, bias and poor sources and networks.... It's very clear to see that half of them have never sat down and actually read anything about islam? So how can they can report fairly when some of them clearly have no knowledge on the religion and are only reporting about 'what they see' or' hear'
or' word of mouth' or from their OWN perceptions?
Non muslims read this and misconceptions start...

Thats why I thought the news paper was such a great idea. The news paper was wriiten by people who have knowledge of islam instaed of the other way round. I also thought it was a gr8 idea that u distributed around the south circular road area...
You never know what effect your words or behaviour will have on someone remember that.... thats why this project was such a great idea....

It was a pleasure to be involved in the whole project and it has really helped to strenghten my iman and believe in Islam...

I know it must hav been hard for you and Katie to come to the mosque, if only more people were less afraid of us muslims! You and katie, especially yourself have been very dedicated throughout the whole project, with organising meetings, sending emails, txts and keeping us updated. MashAllah. You and Katie were very easy to work with mashallah and it was clear from speaking to yourself that this was an issue very close to your heart... I think thats why the project was so succesful.

I have very few critisms of the project... Actually none!
But just questioning if consent was sought regarding the picture of the sister pictured without hijab in the mosque? Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't know would she be happy to have her hair on display to everyone on this blogg page?

well done sis, may Allah reward you for you dawah,
Fiona
