The Project

This project which has been titled here is about misrepresentation of Islam and its followers, with specific attention to Ireland. Over the past few years, the Islamic community has come under increasing attack from the media for numerous reasons. As a general it has been found that media reports published are more often than not, misleading, untrue or simply have been twisted in a bad light. It is unfair that the entire Islamic community suffer for the wrong doings of but a few.

This site's main gaol is to give muslims, and in particular, muslim women a leading chance to correct these misrepresenations and voice their opinion on current matters.

Post will be published on this site regularly. The hope is that these posts will be read and commented on. Perhaps even redited if anyone is feeling adventurous. We aim to provoke debate and discussion. We also hope that many of you will take initiative to write your own text which will be posted on the blog. The material gathered will serve as a collective of similar minds, aiming to re-write the non-truths that get published on a daily basis. Hopefully, insha'allah, this site will provide an outlet for muslims, where they can feel like they are in control of what is said about them rather than the media.

Please become a follower, and/or contribute to the site in any way, or anonymously!!! This site is yours!!!

This blog is a great way for people of all sorts of inclinations to express their opinions and raise questions about Islam and Muslims, who undoubtedly have been under the microscope since 9/11. But this should always remain within the realm of respect.

This is also a good opportunity for Muslims, as it provides a plateform to respond to or explain their view point of this life and everything else that matters to them.

I got the opportunity to go to the exhibition organised by the creators of this blog - Nadia and Catherine. Thumbs up! Simple and straight to the point is how I will describe the exhibition. And to represent the lives and opinions of Muslim women through is truly innovative and new.

Great stuff.. The Revealer that is. It reveals what lies beyond the veil - a very human entity - gentle, agressive, unsure,etc... - nothing alien. I hope the Revealer will remain in circulation.

All the best once again.

And peace to those who seek guidance.

This project is long overdue, really needed, very inspiring. I wish someone had creared a site like this a long time ago.

I am a British born white woman who reverted to Islam at the tender age of 19, I am now 44. I no longer practice my religion properly anymore, and have not done for a number of years.

We all get lost at different times in our lives, (There never was and never will be any doubt though, in my heart about what my beliefs are!!!).

When you feel hurt and lost emotionally, you often become lazy, or weak.

I found the content of this site very interesting and illuminating in what I thought were such modern times. It's hard to comprehend that still so many ordinary people are still so ignorant about Muslims, who they are, what they believe in. So as I already said, this site is vital and long overdue. It can only be due to the Media that the general public are so wrong in what they think Islam is all about.

This site gives everyone, Muslim or not, the chance to voice an opinion, or right a wrong or a misconception.

In my opinion even some of the Muslim women, who have commented or edited some of the content, have still done so in a misleading manner, having given more importance to the particular culture of their own background, than the actual stated teachings of Islam as in the Quran itself.

So as good and willing hard working Muslims that we are we have a long way to go and a lot of work to do.

Well done to the creators, and long live this site.
